JKSSB successfully conducts first ever examination of Sub-
Inspector (Police); Live CCTV surveillance for greater transparency; Chairman compliments District Administrationsand other Role Partners for smooth, hassle free & successful conduct of examination.
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) successfully conducted first ever OMR based objective type written examination for the post of Sub-Inspector (Police), Home Department on 27th of March, 2022 from 12.00 noon to 2.00 p.m. The JKSSB had setup 322 examination centres across 16 districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with maximum number of venues (65) in Jammu and lowest number of venues (6) in Kishtwar districts. Pertinently, the Home Department referred 1200 posts of Sub-Inspector (Police) for recruitment through direct recruitment. Subsequently, the JKSSB advertised aforesaid posts vide advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2021, under item No. 668, against which registered 1,13,861 candidates were scheduled to appear for the aforesaid posts. 97,793 (85.95%) candidates actually participated in todays examination.
The OMR examination test was conducted with the active cooperation and support of respective District Administration and Jammu and Kashmir Police and other related departments like Education, Transport etc. The Private Schools & Colleges also extended full cooperation in conduct of the aforesaid examination. “The JKSSB was entrusted with recruitment of Sub-Inspector, Police
(Home Dept.) for the first time in history of J&K. It was a mammoth exercise and I am thankful to all role partners for their enormous cooperation. The JK SSB team worked relentlessly to conduct examination. The Deputy Commissioners and their teams in the districts extended fullest possible cooperation to the J&KSSB in the smooth and transparent conduct of this exercise. Security arrangements were elaborate and smooth movement of traffic was ensured by the JK Police.
