Mostly recruited for support roles in government hospitals, dispensaries, primary health centers, and offices under the Health Secretariat.Recruitment conducted by GAD or JKSSB depending on the department and district.

🔹 3. Eligibility Criteria
Domicile of J&K UT is mandatory.
Age Limit (as per latest Class IV rules):
Minimum: 18 yearsMaximum: 40 years (General), Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-servicemen
Must not hold a graduate degree (overqualification disqualifies).

Merit-based recruitment (10th and 12th marks weightage)
In some districts/departments, a written test or interview may be conducted.JKSSB also conducts centralized Class IV recruitment across departments.

Pay Level: SL-1 (14800–47100)
Includes basic pay + DA + HRA + other allowancesPermanent government job with pension benefits after confirmation
🔹 6. Responsibilities of Class IV Staff
Orderly: Office errands, document movement, assistance to officials
Peon: Cleaning, filing support, errands within departmentAttendant: Assist in clinics/labs/offices; shift basic hospital equipment
Chowkidar: Guard duty, day/night watch
Sweeper/Cleaner: Hygiene & sanitation duties
