Signature campaign launched in Poonch against Child Labour
POONCH, JUNE 13: Keeping in view the challenge faced by the children involved in labour work, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) is celebrating elimination of child labour week in the honour of World day against child labour in the whole country as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav of child labour week commenced on June 12 to 20 June.
In this regard the District Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today launched a signature campaign against Child Labour to stop the practice of child labour in the district.
ADDC, Poonch, Abdul Sattar, DDC Member Surankote B, Shah Nawaz, ACD/ALC, Abid Hussain Shah besides other officers participated in the signature campaign.
Deputy Commissioner sent a message to general public that send their children to school not for work. He said the campaign aims to inform communities about the negative consequences of child labour and ultimately to change the behaviour of society and institutions alike.
District Task force committee under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Poonch headed by Assistant Labour Commissioner, Abid Hussain Shah to kick start anti Child labour rescue/raids in hot pockets of market. The Stakeholders were DCPU, Childline Poonch, DLSA, and Police department.
During the raids 9 children were rescued by the team and produced in Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for further process.

PLV DLSA, Mehboob Hussain,PLV DLSA,Abdul Rashid, PLV DLSA, Gorav Sharma.
Through the campaign, the appeal has made to all the citizens of district to report child labour on 1098.
