JKSSB Stock Assistant Syllabus – Home Academy
The JKSSB Stock Assistant examination is conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board for recruitment in various government departments. 1. Basic Mathematics – 20 Marks
Basic Mathematics tests numerical ability and problem-solving skills. Questions are generally of 10th standard level. Speed and accuracy are important.
The topics include Percentage, Average, Time Work and Distance, Ratio and Proportion, Problems on Ages, Probability, LCM and HCF, and Mensuration.
Percentage questions are based on profit and loss, discount, and examination marks. Average includes mean value calculations. Time, Work and Distance covers work efficiency and speed-time-distance problems. Ratio and Proportion tests comparison ability. Problems on Ages include present and future age calculations. Probability focuses on basic chance-based numerical problems. LCM and HCF test divisibility concepts. Mensuration includes area and volume of basic figures such as rectangle, square, circle, cube, and cylinder.

2. Basic Reasoning – 20 Marks
Reasoning checks logical thinking and analytical ability. Questions are generally simple but require concentration.
Topics include Analogies, Relationship Concepts (Blood Relations), Figure Odd One Out, Direction Sense Test, Figure Series Completion, Venn Diagram, Number Series, and Coding-Decoding.
Analogies test similarity between words or numbers. Relationship concepts are based on family tree problems. Figure odd one out requires identifying different patterns. Direction sense includes distance and direction-based problems. Figure series completion tests pattern recognition. Venn diagram questions involve logical classification. Number series requires finding missing numbers. Coding-decoding involves letter or number pattern changes.
Preparation Tip: Solve puzzles daily to improve logical speed.
3. Basic English – 30 Marks
English section carries significant weightage. It tests grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
Topics include Articles, Synonyms, Antonyms, Prepositions, Verbs, Reading Comprehension, Determiners, Spellings, and Sentence formation.
Articles test correct usage of a, an, and the. Synonyms and antonyms focus on vocabulary improvement. Prepositions check correct word placement. Verbs include tense and subject-verb agreement. Reading comprehension includes passage-based questions. Determiners test usage of words like some, any, much, many, etc. Spellings test correct word forms. Sentence questions include error detection and rearrangement.

4. General Awareness and Science – 50 Marks
This section carries the highest marks and plays a crucial role in selection. It includes national-level current events and static GK along with basic science.
Topics include General Current Events (National Level), Sports, Indian Culture, Indian History, Indian Geography, Capitals and States, General Science, Health Hygiene and Sanitation, Geography of Jammu and Kashmir, Culture of Jammu and Kashmir, and History of Jammu and Kashmir.
Current affairs focus on recent government schemes, awards, appointments, and important events in India. Sports include major tournaments and awards. Indian culture includes heritage, festivals, dances, and monuments. Indian history covers ancient, medieval, and modern periods. Indian geography includes physical features, rivers, climate, and states. Capitals and states questions are direct factual questions. General science includes physics, chemistry, and biology basics. Health hygiene and sanitation focus on cleanliness and public health awareness.
For Jammu and Kashmir specific GK, candidates must prepare geography, culture, and history of the Union Territory formed under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
