JKSSB released notification (Advt. 05/2025) for 75 Naib Tehsildar posts, open for application from 16 June to 15 July 2025.

As per the original notification, Urdu language proficiency was mandatory.

Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Jammu Bench issued an interim stay on 14 July 2025.

CAT said: "Urdu-only requirement is prima facie discriminatory".

The court cited the Jammu & Kashmir Official Languages Act, 2020, which recognizes five official languages:

✅ Hindi
✅ English
✅ Kashmiri
