Jammu & Kashmir Biodiversity Council
The Jammu & Kashmir Biodiversity Council is monitoring the formulation and updation of Peoples Biodiversity Register (PBRs) being prepared by the BMCs in Jammu as well as Kashmir province in UT of J&K. In order to update the PBRs in the field at BMCs level and assist in other assignments of the Council, the Member Secretary J&K Biodiversity Council / Director J&K Forest Research Institute invites applications from interesting candidates of Jammu & Kashmir for a Walk-in-test which would be followed by an interview to engage suitable candidates as Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) purely on temporary basis, for a period of six (06) months under the funding available with the J&K Biodiversity Council which may be extended depending on the availability of funds. Description of task: i) To assist in updation of Peoples Biodiversity Registers across UT of Jammu & Kashmir. ii) To assist in Operationalization and functioning of Biodiversity Management Committees. iii) To assist in training, awareness and implementation of ABS mechanism and Biological Diversity Act, 2002. iv) To assist in Updation of e-dashboard and any other task assigned by the Council. The eligibility, educational qualification, monthly emoluments and number of positions are as below:

salary 22,500/-
post 10 (5 Each for Jammu Environment Science, Zoology, Botany, month and Kashmir Province) Agriculture and other related science subjects from recognized University with minimum of 60% aggregate marks
Skills & Experience: i) Knowledge of plant Taxonomy, identification of flora and fauna. ii) Experience of carrying site visits for surveys / data collection for updation of Peoples Biodiversity Registers would be given preference.

Locations: Indicative list of districts for deployment of Junior Research Fellows for assisting the updatlon of PBRs: Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara, Shopian, Budgam, Ganderbal, Doda, Poonch, Ramban, Kishtwar, Reasi (This is an indicative list based on the pending updation of PBRs. The deployment of Junior Research Fellows would be subject to change as per need). General Terms & Conditions: 1. Eligible candidate, satisfying above criteria should report by 10.00 AM for registration and scrutiny of documents on 26.04.2022 followed by Walk-in-test on the same day at 11 AM. The date of personal interview shall be intimated separately to the short listed candidates. 2. Candidates should bring the application indicating qualification and experience along with one passport size photograph, true copies of testimonials of educational qualifications, research experience, marks sheets of all examinations etc. 3. All original documents/certificates must be produced at the time of registration. 4. The engaged fellows shall have to work strictly as per schedule and calendar of operation. 5. The Walk-In-Test shall be conducted at J&K Forest Research institute (JKFRI) Complex Janipur, Jammu and JKFRI Complex, Near Woodland School Sonwar, Srinagar. 6. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview. 7. The copy of specific and detailed terms & Conditions shall be provided to the selected candidates after completion of the selection procedure.
