Army's 26 Assam Rifles conducted a kishti race in wulur lake.
Bandipora ,Aug 29 :- As part of Wulur Festival organized by Army's 26 Assam Rifles in collaboration with district administration and tourism department,kishti race was conducted today at Zurimanz Bandipora.
The Festival was aimed at creating environmental awareness and promoting water sports and tourism in the area.
One of the participants and winner of today's kashti race said that we are happy and thankful to the Indian army for conducting such programmes to promote wulur tourism in the bandipora.
The festival also focussed at empowering locals as well as the local fishing communities by providing a suitable platform to showcase their talents.
Around 30 Boatman's from different villages of bandipora participated in the boat race and hailed the efforts of Indian army,and civil administration,for conducting such initiatives to promote water tourism in Wulur lake.
Civil Administration, local were taken on board for this initiative wherein sports, education and entertainment came together in perfect synergy to create a successful festival.
Major events conducted as part of the festival included Painting Competition,Bird watching for students, etc.
The concluded ceremony will be conducted tomorrow at wulur vintage park Bandipora.
