itJammu, Oct 26:
The true, honestand purposeful jour-nalism is a commitment toreporting only accurate andtruthful information, with-out distorting or tilting anyfacts or details to improvethe story or better align anissue with any certain agen-da. But the neutrality sug-gests that stories be reportedin an unbiased, purposeful,even-handed, and impartialmanner. Since the time I havejoined the 'Jammu Jottings'newspaper, the team of thesaid newspaper have tried itsbest to present the news sto-ries based on facts and sub-stances. The team includingmyself have been workinghard to serve the society andto comply the norms andethics of journalism. The people in majorityextending their overwhelm-ing support to encourage usto write on more issues as weare doing it but there aresome persons who areunhappy with the fact writ-ing exposing the things, which are not in the interestof the society or majority ofpeople except a few personswho are deriving personalbenefits from the coveredevents. Some people hastried us to pull us back butwe continued to work. As a person, I clearly statethat we have nothing to dowith anyone in person but asa journalist I would work asper the ethics of my profes-sion. Someone who is gov-ernment employee mes-saged me 'Mere saath kyadushmani thi' (What was theenmity with me?) I want toreply him very categoricallythat I have no enmity withanyone including that per-son, even I do not know him,how can it is possible. The aim of my team andme, to expose the scandalbased on facts and evi-dences. It is an open secretthat Jammu Jottings havebroken the story regardingfudging and leaking ofpapers regarding Jammu &Kashmir Police - SubInspector, Financial AccountAssistant and JE Civil. Onfirst day when I broke thestory, I faced severe criticismfrom my journalism fraterni-ty too but I continued withthe firmness and the team ofJammu Jottings took firmstand.
