1. (a) PM Modi has become the first Indian Prime Minister
to address the joint session of the US Congress twice.
He is the second international leader to do so after
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Earlier,
PM Modi had addressed a joint session of the US
Congress in the year 2016.
2. (d) West Indies captain Shai Hope became the third
fastest batsman to complete 15 centuries in ODI
cricket. In this case, he has broken the record of Indian
cricketer Virat Kohli. He completed his 15th century
against Nepal in the World Cup Qualifier-2023 match.
Hope completed his 15 centuries in 105 innings while
Virat Kohli completed his 15 ODI centuries in 106
innings.
3. (b) Hockey Madhya Pradesh won the 13th Hockey India
Junior Men National Championship 2023 by defeating
Hockey Chandigarh in the final at Birsa Munda
Hockey Stadium. On the other hand, the Haryana
team secured the third position in the competition.

4. (b) Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar
has launched PM Kisan mobile app with face
authentication feature. With the help of this facility,
any farmer can easily complete e-KYC by scanning his
face without OTP or fingerprint even sitting at home.
PM Kisan is one of the biggest DBT schemes in the
world, under which farmers get Rs. 6000 directly
transferred through Aadhaar linked bank accounts in
three instalments in a year.

Vasudevan as Executive Director. RBI said in a

Vasudevan holds a bachelor's degree in commerce

Parth Salunkhe created history by becoming the
first player from India to win the gold medal in the

17. (c) India's 21-year-old badminton player Lakshya Sen has
won the title of Canada Open. This is his first title of
this year. Sen defeated All England Open champion

has been appointed as the new chairman of the
International Financial Services Centers Authority
(IFSCA). He will replace Injeti Srinivas, the first
chairperson of the regulatory authority. IFSCA was

Financial Services Centers Authority Act, 2019. It is

11 consecutive race wins. Recently, Max Verstappen
won the Austrian Grand Prix title.
20. (c) As part of India's G20 chairmanship, the 3rd Trade
and Investment Working Group meeting is being held
in Kevadia. More than 75 international delegates
from various G20 countries are participating in this

service has been started at Delhi's Indira Gandhi
International Airport. With its help, the operational
efficiency of the airport will increase and it will also

and southern airfields of the airport.

(CWG) is being organized in Hampi, Karnataka.

23. (c) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar filed his
nomination papers for the upcoming Rajya Sabha
elections in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Election
Commission of India recently announced the schedule
of elections to be held on July 24 on 10 Rajya Sabha
seats in Goa, Gujarat and West Bengal. Ten members
from these states are retiring in July and August. The
last date for filing nominations for the vacant seats of
Rajya Sabha is July 13. The counting of votes will be
done on July 24.

League has now increased to US$3.2 billion, up
80% from US$1.8 billion in 2022. Global investment
bank Houlihan Lokey has confirmed this in its IPL
Brand Valuation Study 2023. Current IPL champions

compared to other IPL teams. CSK tops the list with a
brand value of $212 million. After this is the place of

due to a rise in cases of the neurological disorder
Guillain-Barre syndrome. Guillain-Barre syndrome
is a rare neurological disorder in which the body's

has launched the 'Bharat 6G Alliance' in New Delhi.

43. (d) Senior Congress leader and former Kerala CM
Oommen Chandy has passed away. He was 79 years
old and was ill for a long time. He was the Chief
Minister of Kerala from 2004 to 2006 and again from
2011 to 2016. Chandy held the record for the longest
tenure as a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly,
representing Puthupalli for 18,728 days. Chandy was
also honored with the 2013 United Nations Public
Service Award from the Asia-Pacific region.
44. (c) India and France have agreed to develop new
generation military equipment as part of a long-term
roadmap. French Ambassador to India Emmanuel
Lenain has informed about this and called it a
reflection of "trust and strong partnership". This
agreement was done during the visit of Prime
Minister Narendra Modi to Paris. Recently the PM of
India had visited France where he was honored with
the highest honor of Japan.
45. (a) Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic has
become the first unseeded female player to win the
Wimbledon Grand Slam. In the final match, Marketa
defeated Ons Jabeur of Tunisia by 6-4, 6-4. She

achieved this feat as the first unseeded woman in the
Wimbledon final in 60 years. This is Vondrousova's
first Grand Slam title.
46. (b) NITI Aayog has recently released the Export
Preparedness Index 2022. This time Tamil Nadu has
achieved the top rank by leaving behind Maharashtra
and Gujarat. The Export Preparedness Index evaluates
a state's preparedness based on its export potential
and performance. Tamil Nadu topped with a score of
80.89 while Maharashtra with a score of 78.20 and
Karnataka (76.36) came third.
47. (d) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the
Integrated Terminal Building of Veer Savarkar
International Airport Integrated Terminal, Port Blair
in virtual mode. About Rs 710 crore has been spent
in completing this project. This new terminal building
will provide ease of doing business and increase
connectivity in the region.
48. (a) According to the new report of Henley Passport Index,
Singapore's passport has become the most powerful
passport in the world. In this case, Singapore has
left behind the number one ranked Japan. Japan is
third in this year's ranking. India is at 80th place in
this ranking Indian citizens can visit only 57 countries
without visa. In this list, China is 63rd, Bhutan 84th,
Myanmar 89th, Sri Lanka 95th, Bangladesh 96th,
Nepal 98th and Pakistan 100th.
49. (a) The International Aerospace and Defense Exhibition
(ADEX) 2023 will be organized in Seoul, the capital of
South Korea. 550 companies from 35 countries will
participate in this defense exhibition. This six-day
defense exhibition will start on 17 October 2023.
This will be the biggest ever edition of the exhibition,
which was first held in 1996.
50. (b) The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has retained
India's economic growth forecast at 6.4 per cent for
the current financial year and 6.7 per cent for the
next financial year. In its update of the Asian Growth
Outlook, ADB forecast inflation for developing
economies in Asia to be 3.6 percent this year and
3.4 percent in 2024. The Indian economy grew by 7.2
percent in the financial year 2022-23 ending March
2023.
51. (c) The third G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank
Governors meeting under the chairmanship of India
was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The theme of the
G20 summit to be held under the chairmanship of
India is "One Earth, One Family, One Future".
52. (d) The Ministry of Defense has appointed Rakesh Pal,
an alumnus of the Indian Naval Academy, as the 25th
Director General of the Indian Coast Guard. Rakesh
had joined the Indian Coast Guard in January 1989.
Significantly, in February 2023, Rakesh was given the
additional charge of the post of Director General of
the Indian Coast Guard. The Indian Coast Guard was
established on 1 February 1977.
53. (b) Under the initiative of the International Chess
Federation (FIDE), International Chess Day is
celebrated annually on 20 July across the world. It
was started in the year 1966. FIDE was recognized
by the International Olympic Committee in 1999. No
official announcement has been made regarding the
theme of World Chess Day 2023.
54. (c) In the year 2024, the 69th edition of the Filmfare
Awards will be organized in Gujarat, for which
preparations have been started. This is the first time
that the Filmfare Awards will be organized in Gujarat.
Its organization will promote film destination and
tourism in the state. Filmfare Awards is an annual
award ceremony, first organized in 1954.
55. (d) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has become the
second longest serving Chief Minister in the country.
He has left behind former West Bengal Chief Minister
Jyoti Basu in this matter. Naveen Patnaik has been
on the post of Chief Minister of Odisha for 23 years
and 138 days. The record of being the Chief Minister
for the longest time in India is recorded in the name
of Pawan Kumar Chamling, former Chief Minister of
Sikkim.
56. (d) India has recently handed over the Indian Navy's
Corvette INS Kirpan to the Vietnam People's Navy
(VPN). INS Kirpan served in the Indian Navy for 32
years, which has now been decommissioned. India
is also helping Vietnam in building defense technical
capabilities for which a grant of $5 million has also
been given. Vietnam is a Southeast Asian country, its
capital is Hanoi.
57. (c) Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved
the Mission Shakti scooter scheme. Under this
scheme, interest subvention will be provided to the
beneficiaries on bank loans up to Rs 1,00,000, so
that they can buy scooters. This initiative ensures
affordable access to two-wheelers for Mission Shakti
Federation Leaders and CSS. For this scheme from the
government side, Rs 528.55 crore has been allocated
in the next five years.
58. (a) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate
'Semicon India 2023' in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on
28th of this month. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel
will inaugurate a special exhibition for the public
tomorrow. In this exhibition, information will be given
about the manufacturing process of semiconductors
and the progress made in this field. This exhibition
will remain open till 30th of this month.
59. (a) The third G20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group
meeting is being organized in Chennai under the
chairmanship of India. Ms. Mami Mizutori, Special
Representative of the United Nations SecretaryGeneral for Disaster Risk Reduction, addressed
the meeting. The UN Special Representative also
discussed the Climate Crisis National Financial Plan.
60. (d) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate
Gujarat's first greenfield airport at Hirasar near Rajkot
on 27 July. This airport, built in an area of 1500 acres
at a cost of 1,405 crores, has been renamed as Rajkot
International Airport
