Statue of Equality: World's Second-Largest Statue -
Prime Minister of india will dedicate to the nation the “Statue of Equality” on February 5, 2022, commemorating the 11th-century bhakti saint Ramanujacharya.
The ‘Statue of Equality’ is going to be the second-largest statue in the world that will promote Bhakti saint Ramanujacharya’s idea of equality in all aspects of living, including faith, caste and creed.
The uniqueness of the Statue of Equality
The statue is created of ‘Panchaloha,’ a five-metal alloy consisting of gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc. This makes it one of the world’s tallest metallic statues in a sitting position.
It is mounted on a huge lotus built on a three-story 54-foot structure building named ‘Bhadra Vedi’. The 63,444 square-foot ground floor of the statue contains a Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian texts, a theatre, an educational gallery that detail a plethora of works of Saint Ramanujacharya.
The statue has been conceptualised by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram with a total cost of Rs 1,000 crore around the project.
On the second storey, there is a Ramanujacharya temple with a 120 kg gold statue for daily adoration. It covers an area of around 300,000 square feet. Moreover, flags from all around the world, including Islamic countries, have been erected to appeal to individuals of all backgrounds.
