Social welfare is the process of social development through which the potential of the people is stimulated to promote the effective participation in the process of social change and improving the quality of life. Social Welfare Department over the period has played a key role in the socio economic upliftment of under privileged, poor and vulnerable section of the society.
The Directorate of Social Welfare Jammu came into existence in the year 2003 after the bifurcation of erstwhile Directorate into two separate Directorates at the Provincial level.
The Directorate is headed by the Director who is assisted by Deputy Director ( Adm.), Assistant Director (Administration) , Assistant Director (Schemes),Deputy Director (Planning) , Chief Accounts Officer and other allied staff. Read more ... Read more
