Jammu and
Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2023
- The
Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2023 has been introduced
by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in the Lok Sabha on
December 5, 2023.
- In
this bill, a provision for reservation has been made for Pandits in Jammu
and Kashmir Assembly and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
- According
to the bill, 2 seats will be reserved for Kashmiri Pandits in the Jammu
and Kashmir Assembly.
- Kashmiri
Pandits will be nominated by the Lieutenant Governor and 1 seat among
Kashmiri Pandits will be reserved for women.
