Namo NavMatdatta Registration Portal Launched
- BJP President JP Nadda launched the Namo NavMatdatta registration portal on January 13, 2024, in New Delhi to outreach first-time voters.
- The portal will serve as a platform to register all Nav Matdatas as Viksit Bharat Ambassadors.
- To strengthen the party's presence among the youth and deepen its connection with a vibrant democracy, 5000 conferences will be organized across all Vidhan Sabhas .
- Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nadda said, the youth of the country is witnessing a transformative journey under the persistent efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Global Water Monitor Report 2023 Revealed
- The Global Water Monitor report 2023 revealed on January 13, 2024 over 77 countries endured their highest average annual temperatures in the last 45 years.
- The unprecedented heat manifested across all seasons, influencing precipitation patterns along with water budgets.
- Study noted that global water cycle last year was affected by an emerging El Nino phase shifting tropical rainfall zones.
- Despite hotter and drier air, annual soil moisture levels increased by 3.5% above 1998-2005 averages due to multiple possible factors like evolving farm practices.

Dr. Prabha Atre
- Veteran classical singer Swarayogini Dr. Prabha Atre, passed away on January 13, 2024 at her residence in Pune. She was 91 years old.
- Besides being a classical vocalist, she also excelled as an academician, researcher, composer and author.
- She was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the nation’s second-highest civilian honour, in January 2022.
- She was earlier honoured with the Padma Shri award in 1990 and the Padma Bhushan in 2002.

Telangana International Kite Festival and Sweet Festival Organised
- The 6th edition of the Telangana International Kite Festival and Sweet Festival commenced at the Parade Ground in Secunderabad on January 13, 2024.
- This three-day event features 37 international professional kite flyers from 16 different countries.
- Kite flyers from Indonesia, Switzerland, Australia, Sri Lanka, Canada, Scotland, Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Italy, Taiwan, South Africa etc. are taking part in the festival.
- The festival has around 800 stalls, offering a variety of attractions like food courts showcasing Telangana cuisine, handicrafts, and handloom stalls.
