LANGUAGE & SCRIPT
1) Gojari Language:
- Gojari is an Indo-Aryan language spoken by most of the Gujjars in the northern parts of India and Pakistan as well as in Afghanistan
- It is a member of the Rajasthani group of languages
- in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, with ethnic Gujjars elsewhere having shifted to the regional languages instead
- The government of the erstwhile Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir had recognised Gujari by including it in the sixth schedule of the state constitution
2) Wancho Language:
- It is a Konyak language of north-eastern India. Wancho is spoken in 36 villages of southeastern Longding district, Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, as well as in Assam and Nagaland
- Wancho is generally written in either Devanagari or Latin script
- Between 2001 and 2012, teacher Banwang Losu devised a unique alphabetic Wancho script taught in some schools. In 2019, the script was officially published into Unicode 12.0
