JK Police Sub-Inspector Preparation Strategy – Complete 60 Days Study Plan

Preparing for the JK Police Sub-Inspector examination requires discipline, consistency, and a smart study strategy. Since the paper consists of 100 objective questions carrying 200 marks with negative marking, every day of preparation must be planned carefully. The best way to prepare is to divide the entire syllabus into a 60-day structured study plan, so that every subject is covered properly, revised multiple times, and practiced through mock tests.

This article by Home Academy presents a complete 60-day plan in an arranged format for serious aspirants.

Understanding the Preparation Approach

The first requirement for success in this examination is to understand that the syllabus contains six major sections: Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English, Mathematical Abilities, and Computer Proficiency. A candidate should aim to study for 7 to 8 hours daily in a disciplined manner. The plan should include theory, practice questions, revision, and mock tests.

The sixty days should be divided into three phases.

The first twenty days should be dedicated to completing the syllabus.
The next twenty days should focus on MCQ practice and strengthening weak areas.
The last twenty days should be reserved for revision and full-length mock tests.

Phase I: First 20 Days – Complete Syllabus Coverage

During the first phase, the main objective is to cover every subject from the syllabus.

Day 1 to Day 4 – General Intelligence & Reasoning

In these four days, focus completely on reasoning topics such as analogy, coding-decoding, series, syllogism, blood relations, direction sense, statement conclusions, and non-verbal reasoning. Spend the morning hours on concepts and the evening on practice questions.

Day 5 to Day 8 – General Awareness

These days should be used for studying history, geography, polity, economics, science, sports, current affairs, and Jammu & Kashmir special topics. Make short notes for quick revision.

Day 9 to Day 12 – Quantitative Aptitude

Focus on percentage, ratio and proportion, average, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, time and work, time and distance, mixture and alligation, and partnership.

Day 13 to Day 16 – English

Use these days for grammar rules, vocabulary, synonyms, antonyms, one-word substitutions, active-passive voice, direct-indirect speech, comprehension passages, and cloze tests.

Day 17 to Day 19 – Mathematical Abilities

Study algebra, geometry, mensuration, trigonometry, statistics, and probability. Learn formulas carefully and solve basic problems.

Day 20 – Computer Proficiency

Dedicate this day to computer basics, MS Office, internet, networking, cyber security, and shortcut keys.

By the end of the first twenty days, the complete syllabus should be covered once.

Phase II: Day 21 to Day 40 – Practice and Strengthening Weak Areas

This phase is the backbone of selection because this is where actual exam readiness develops.

Every day should be divided into three study sessions.

The morning session should be for reasoning and mathematics practice.

The afternoon session should be for English and computer MCQs.

The evening session should be reserved for current affairs and general awareness revision.

Daily practice should include at least 80 to 100 MCQs.

From Day 21 to Day 30, solve topic-wise MCQs from each subject.

From Day 31 to Day 35, solve mixed subject tests.

From Day 36 to Day 40, identify weak sections and work on them intensively.

For example, if quantitative aptitude is weak, spend extra hours on percentage, ratio, and time-work problems.

Phase III: Day 41 to Day 60 – Revision and Mock Tests

This phase is the most crucial stage.

The aim here is to convert preparation into performance.

Day 41 to Day 50 – First Revision Cycle

Revise all short notes, formulas, vocabulary lists, computer shortcuts, and important current affairs. Focus on speed and accuracy.

Day 51 to Day 55 – Full-Length Mock Tests

Take one full mock test every day exactly in 120 minutes, just like the actual exam.

After each mock test, spend at least one hour analyzing mistakes.

This step is extremely important because it teaches time management and helps reduce negative marking.

Day 56 to Day 58 – Final Subject Revision

Revise weak topics, important formulas, grammar rules, and GK facts.

Day 59 – Grand Mock Test

Take a final complete test in the same exam environment.

Day 60 – Light Revision Day

Do not overload yourself on the final day. Revise only notes, formulas, and current affairs headlines.

Sleep on time and remain mentally fresh.

Daily Timetable for 60 Days

A disciplined daily timetable is essential.

Study from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM for numerical subjects such as reasoning and aptitude.

Study from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM for general awareness and current affairs.

Study from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM for English and computer.

Study from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM for mathematics and MCQ practice.

Use 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM for revision.

This daily cycle, followed consistently for sixty days, can produce excellent results.

Home Academy Final Advice

Success in JK Police SI examination depends on consistency, mock practice, and revision.

Do not study randomly.

Follow the 60-day plan strictly.

Even if you study fewer hours, study every day without break.

Discipline over sixty days can change your result completely.
