Sports Ministry Suspended Wrestling Federation of India (Sports News)
- The Sports Ministry has suspended the just-elected Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) for multiple violations.
- The Ministry suspended the new President Sanjay Singh after he announced the U-15 and U-20 nationals for Wrestling.
- New WFI chief, Sanjay Singh announced that the U-15 and U-20 nationals for Wrestling will take place in Nandini Nagar, Gonda, Uttar Pradesh before the end of this year.
- This announcement was hasty, without giving sufficient notice to wrestlers who are to take part in the said nationals and without following the provisions of the constitution of WFI.
India - Australia Women's Test Match (Cricket)
- India recorded their maiden victory against Australia in a women's test match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on December 24, 2023.
- They needed just 75 runs to win the match after bowling Australia out for 261 in the second innings.
- India reached the target just after lunch losing two wickets.
- This is India's first victory against Australia in 11 tests since the team’s first clashed in the longest format in 1977.
- Off-spinner Sneh Rana was chosen player of the match for her seven-wicket haul.
National Badminton Championships (Badminton)
- Anmol Kharb has won the women’s singles title at the National Badminton Championships 2023 in Guwahati on December 24, 2023.
- The men’s singles title clash saw an upset as the unseeded Chirag Sen secured the national title after defeating fourth-seed Tharun M.
- In the mixed doubles summit clash, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto defeated the sixth-seeded duo of Nitin Kumar-Navdha Manglam to claim their maiden national title.
- Priya Devi Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra lifted the women’s doubles title with a win over Ritika Thaker-Simran Singh.
- The men’s doubles final was an edge-of-the-seat thriller where K Pruthvi Roy-Suraj Goala caused an upset by defeating Krishna Prasad Garaga-Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala.

JSW-NDA Car Rally Flagged off (Defence)
- The CISC Lieutenant General, J P Mathew flagged off the JSW-NDA Car Rally from the National War Memorial in New Delhi on December 24, 2023.
- It will culminated its one thousand 800 kilometre odyssey at the National Defence Academy in Pune within six days.
- The celebration marks the seventy-five glorious years of the National Defence Academy (NDA).
- Ministry of Defence said that this rally was initiated as a heartfelt tribute to Operation Badli, which traces its roots to 1954 under the stewardship of Major General Enayat Habibullah.

20th 'Neuro Update 2023' Conference Inaugurated
- Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 20th 'Neuro Update 2023' conference in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on December 24, 2023.
- This conference will feature discussions and speeches by renowned doctors in the field of neurology on the subject of the 'Pragmatic Approach in Neurology.'
- At this conference, members of the Ahmedabad Association of Physicians, and professionals from across the country, including neurology doctors, professors were present.
- CM stated that the then Chief Minister and current PM Narendra Modi had started the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 20 years ago aiming for overall development in Gujarat.
26th National Integration and Youth Leadership Camp Inaugurated
- The 26th National Integration and Youth Leadership Camp started at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh on December 24, 2023 .
- It was inaugurated by Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.).
- The 8-day camp is being organised with the theme, ‘Viksit Yuva, Viksit Bharat’ by the Central Calcutta Science & Culture Organization for Youth in cooperation with State Government.
- More than 1,000 students, including 250 youth from different States of North East Region, are attending the Camp.
